Leuchars to Dundee
13 miles long; 1hr 34min to cycle

This route starts south of Dundee at Leuchars and generally follows traffic free paths and lanes that are tarmaced or gravelled. There are lots of highlights on this route including Tentsmuir Forest and national nature reserve, which is lovely to cycle through.
2. Salmon Run
Dundee to Pitlochry
54 miles long; 6hrs 30min to cycle

This is a really fabulous route starting in Dundee and following the course of the River Tay upstream. There are some spectacular viewpoints along the way which generally involves fairly quiet country roads and paths.
3. Up the Tay
Perth to Dunkeld

A beautiful route with lots to see including Scone Palace and Birnam Wood. The approach road to the Dunkeld Hilton along the River Tay is lovely.

2. Lochs & Glens North

This national route 7 passes through the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Parks and offers some truly spectacular scenery along the way. There are so many highlights, but perhaps the Drumochter Pass is one of the best. A serious journey, but well worth it.
3. Forest & Loch Ride

Following National route 7, this is a truly wonderful day out. Some of the highlights include the Queen Elizabeth Forest, Loch Venachar & Loch Drunkie. Mainly traffic free forest tracks, this is an absolute delight.
4. Oban to Campbeltown

With lots of harbours, castles and abbeys to explore and stunning scenery this is a great way to see the West Coast of Scotland. You will pass through Lorn, Knapdale and the fabulous Kintyre peninsula.
5. The Witch's Trails
Leanachan Forest, Fort William
World class mountain-bike trails
The Witch's Trails have three waymarked trails: Broomstick Blue; Witch's World Championship Trails and the 10 Under the Ben.
Each trail is packed with features and you will certainly be tested. There is a cafe at the Nevis Range base station and local shops and services at Spean Bridge. For more information on Nevis Range mountain biking click here.
6. Highland Wildcat Trails, Golspie
With the longest singletrack descent in the UK at around 7000m Highland Wildcat Trails is the place for the serious mountain bikder.
There are, however, trails for every ability. This is a great day out with some fantastic views from the top of the mountain. The trailhead is the village of Golspie offering good facilities for the visitor.
7. Pentland Hills Regional Park, Edinburgh
100kms of cycling paths
The Pentland hills are accessible from Edinburgh city centre in under half an hour.
